Trigg Leather didn't begin as a company trying to sell leather supplies. We began as leatherworkers who needed them. That difference has shaped our business for more than three decades.
We Couldn't Find the Supplies We Needed.
Trigg Leather began in 1991 manufacturing small leather goods. Like any leatherworking business, we depended on good leather and dependable hardware to make a good finished product.
There was just one problem: finding the quality leather and hardware we needed wasn't easy.
So instead of continuing to fight the problem, we decided to help solve it.
From a Few Hundred Dollars in Inventory to a National Supplier
Trigg Leather grew by listening to the people who actually use these products: leatherworkers, retailers and manufacturers.
Trigg Leather Begins
The company starts by manufacturing small leather goods. Working directly with leather gives Trigg firsthand knowledge of the quality, consistency and availability problems leatherworkers face when trying to source materials and hardware.
The Supply Business Opens — And Trigg Goes Online
In January 2000, Trigg Leather opens its San Angelo supply store to provide leatherworkers with the quality leather and hardware the company itself had struggled to find. The supply division begins with only a few hundred dollars in inventory and one employee.
That same year, Trigg Leather begins selling online. At a time when e-commerce was still new to most businesses, customers could already turn to Trigg Leather on the Internet for leather, hardware and supplies. We've been serving customers online ever since.
The First Trigg Leather Concho
Trigg Leather creates its first original concho design. What began with one design grows into a major part of the company, with more than 200 Trigg Leather concho designs developed over the years and an enormous selection of styles and finishes.
A Major Investment in Production
As demand grows, Trigg Leather invests heavily in leather-cutting equipment, including clickers and strap cutters. That expansion allows the company to do far more than simply sell supplies. Trigg becomes a production resource for customers needing leather components and repeat quantities.
From Weekend Leatherworkers to Major Manufacturers
Today, Trigg Leather serves an extraordinarily broad range of customers. Someone needing a single concho can shop with the same company that helps manufacturers source hardware and production quantities. More than three million clicked leather parts and strap goods have been sold since the company's production expansion.
We Don't Just Sell It.
We Understand It.
There is a difference between selling a product and understanding how that product is actually used.
Trigg Leather's roots are in manufacturing leather goods. Our growth has included product development, concho design, leather cutting, hardware sourcing, importing and distribution. That experience gives us a practical understanding of the needs of both individual craftsmen and commercial customers.
Whether you're trying to find the right concho for one project or trying to source thousands of components for a production line, you're dealing with people who understand that those are two very different needs.
Need Thousands? Let's Talk.
One of the things that has always made Trigg Leather different is the range of customers we serve. The weekend leatherworker and the large manufacturer are both important to us.
